Black Monk 4 minutes excerpt
Black Monk is originally a short story by playwright Anton Chekhov, the black monk is a hallucination that often converses with the man, leading him to immerse himself in the world of his genius but decadent in the real world. As Chekhov said, he just wanted to portray a man suffering from delusions of grandeur; at that time, he was deeply interested in psychiatry.
My black monk is a shadow, a mirror, an innermost desire. In my work, the four music sections stand on different perspectives to show the relationship between the black monk and others. The first is the black monk with its ontology; the second is the black monk being suppressed and trying to reveal itself to the outside world; The third is Black Monk seems to be absent, but it is secretly awakening the black monks of all people; the fourth is the black monk of all people being awakened and they all start to grow. In the third part, some of the audience would participate in the performance.
The text is in Quenya, an Elvish language that was created by Tolkien in his Middle-earth fiction.

— When the Consciousness Burning 当意识在燃烧
(2020-2021)
String Quartet
(by Jack Quartet)
<When the Consciousness Burning> is inspired by my years of severe insomnia. During the frozen sleeping time, the consciousness, preconsciousness and subconsciousness can be detected and felt when all senses are infinitely magnified. The "burning" is the process that shows the decay of consciousness and the growth of others. When the activity of the body starts to decline, the spirit begins to gather those scattered memories and draw. Breathing is always the clue to this unquantifiable sensory world.

The Maids’ Play 女仆的游戏
(2020-2023)
for Flute, Violin, Cello, Piano, Soprano, Mezzo soprano, Chorus and Electronic
<The Maids’ Play> is a one-hour chamber opera inspired by the play “The Maids” by the French playwright Jean Genet. We all know that in his play, the two maids, Claire and Solange often play the game in which players take turns pretending to be the mistress, and one day the news that the man will be released starts an insaneness…
What if the man never comes back? If there is no man in this house, are women really what everyone thinks they are? In the patriarchal society, all conflicts seem to be between women. If one of the women is no longer in this confrontation, how can the illusory hatred be dissolved?...
— The Stories of Dragon Gate 摆龙门阵
(2021-2022)
Large Ensemble for 15 instruments
A long time ago, People in SiChuan, a province in southwest China, liked to gather in a courtyard called“龙门”( Dragon Gate) to chat. Over time, the meaning of “摆龙门阵” in SiChuan dialect means “gossip /chat”. Nowadays, chatting in the park is the daily life of many
SiChuan people. They are kind, warm-hearted, hot and very concerned about the neighbors. When they are sitting in the teahouses in outdoor parks, playing Mahjong and sharing any news they recently get, the picture is vivid and majestic. In their voices, any little thing would become a huge drama, and the audiences make it more attractive.
There are several birds calling sounds at the beginning of this work, also I use different instruments to imitate the intonation of the Sichuan dialect to tell different stories. There is an old man who lives with a young woman, a mother who is chasing her child to beat him, and a poker friend who is trying to cheat... The tune of the Sichuan Opera is employed in this piece. The mother is telling her pathetic life, and the surroundings gradually overwhelm her... In the last part, Mahjong joins in as a percussion. Mahjong is originally from Sichuan and is the most popular activity in people's life.
A lot of stories spread around the table...
